Going to Oklahoma!

I'm heading off to Oklahoma to spend some time with a new customer down there. The owner of the company is generously allowing me to ride his "older" Sportster while I'm down there!!! How exciting, December riding in reasonable weather... I'm looking forwarding to riding around the area down there and seeing what there is to see. I'll share some photos and any nice rides I discover while I'm there!

Check back this weekend for some updates!

Good Luck!!

Owning an old Sportster all I can say is the vibes are like nothing else, compared to what your used to.

Keep the sticky side down

Well, I jumped on the bike this afternoon around 4:30 and headed off into the Oklahoma evening. It was a little cooler than last evening and the breeze picked up a bit after sunset but what a great ride. I ran out from my hotel up Meridian (the road my hotel is on) and ran up to Route 66. I followed 66 West towards a small town called Bethany. I stopped at a CVS to pick up a camera because I'd left mine at home...

I headed on up to a beautiful lake and found a small road that ran about half way around it. My timing was perfect! I got a couple of shots of the sunset as well as several shots of the lake itself. I also found a fisherman who was kind enough to take a pic or two of me.

When I reached the end of the road, I found a dam with a spillway. Met another fellow fishing named Louis who's originally from LA. What a nice guy! We chatted for a few minutes and I took a shot of him.

Anyhow, the weather was cooling off as the sun was down so I started heading back. Had dinner at a great little mexican joint called Los Amigos. Great food and really well priced. It's on McCarther just off of 66 if you're ever in the area.

I really enjoyed the trip and hope to have a chance to ride here again!

Check the site for pics in the next week...

John,

Though the ride was great, I have to be honest, I prefer the ride my '99 Yahama 1100 gives. It's a bit smoother...

Hope all is well!
